Manifesto of an Artist

I believe in    A never ending  
Fairytale,  In the talk of  Monsters and  Unicorns,  The notion  Of a Beauty  
In love with a  
Beast.   
A thousand  Rainbows  Can light up the night,  And purple cows  Can fly through  
Misty twilight air.   
Paper is  
never  Truly empty,  The words are simply hidden  Beneath its easily erasable  
Surface.  
 
I believe in  Imagination.   
I  Believe  In  Art.
Although many people only know me because of my pop-up windows, my true pride and joy are my poems. This poem, though breif, basically explains how I view art in general, my manifesto to the world. Written while at a creative writing class, this is a more surrealist way of putting out what I believe. :D I love it, I hope you do too!!!

Dreadful Lullaby-CR InterludeThe rim of the porcelain cup was cracked, and dirty. Small chips in the paint, invisible to the human eye, coffee stains around the aged mouth disgusted the drinker. The rust-tinted tea sloshed against the sides, resting in the cracks. Setting down the cup, he turned away from it. It held no appeal to him, neither in taste, nor value. He didn't need it; it was a prop, the only use of it was to make sure that he was appearing as 'normal' as possible. Not that a man with waist-length hair that was as black as midnight could appear relatively 'normal'.

Chemicals React Chapter 12It had been weeks. The days rolled by, each as monotonous as the last. Day by God-forsaken day, Lucian felt everything in him slip. There was no longer any satisfaction in what little thrills the kill held, and the only light in each day was knowing that he'd been the one to walk away, and that he survived. Every day grew colder and colder. A strange, internal cold that he'd never felt before. It chilled his heart, sent shivers through his fingers each time he bled another kill, something that told him that this wasn't who he was.

Anyway, for people out there who don't know me and are just visiting my page, here is some info about me:
My name is Abigail. I'm a writer, usually poetry but some prose here and there. I live in Houston, TX, and I have for all my life.

About my poetry:
Usually pretty dark and deep. Lots of my friends don't like it, haven't read it, or they just don't care enough. Most likely has some deeper meanings, or it's just my ranting that I put into poem form ;P

About my prose:
I like writing short stories. I am currently working on a novel, A Fallen Angel. More will come soon, I hope! It takes so long for me to type long things, so I usually just stick to poetry. But I'm beginning to become a short story writer as the only thing I do. :)

Random facts about me:
I am 5'8" tall. I have brown hair and green eyes. I have 4 siblings. I am a singer, mostly Soprano 2 becuase my choir director wants me to lead the group but I really should be a Soprano 1. I play the cello and have been playing it for 9 years. I played the piano for 6 years. I can't dance to save my life ;)
